New Stun Grenade
I want to ask you, my fellow players, your opinion on a product I wish to market: a stun grenade/sound emitter. We have seen stun grenades over the past years, mostly CO2 powered. Some even cost over 5 dollars per use! Virtually none can be found for under $100 and therefore make the whole idea of a stun grenade unattractive. I am, like you, a user of various types of devices used in a wide variety of environments. I recently saw one of those grenades and when I looked at it I saw quite a few things that displeased me: loose pieces, low cost effectiveness, a lack of realism and mostly just plain cost.
As a paintball tech for a few years now, I started thinking of a few designs. My goals are simple: create a cost effective, reliable, cheap, and visually-appealing stun grenade. My design uses a very common sound generating system, and a .22 blank, which can be bought in packs of 100 for 10 bucks from any construction or hobby shop without any license whatsoever. I want to make everything user friendly. For example, have everything stay together after and before detonation: searching for pieces after use is very irritating .I want to make it out of anodized aluminum in flat black, for toughness and great durability, and sell it for somewhere around $40 – 70 USD.
Cost Effectiveness
Each detonation costs about 10 cents, very cheap compared to the 5 dollars the Thumper Grenade requires for every use. And it’ll only be between $40 – 70 USD, far from $110.
User Friendly
The whole grenades design is very simple to operate, load, and maintain .All parts stay together at all times to prevent loss of pieces.
Durability
Everything is made of anodized aluminum or stainless steel, making it solid, lightweight, rust-resistant, and wear-resistant.
Simple and Reliable
My motto is that the simpler something is, the less likely it is to break. The whole device contains less than 6 pieces, all made of anodized aluminum or stainless steel.
Visually Appealing
Personally, when I pay good money for something, I want it to do what it is supposed to do and to do it well, and I want it to look good. I don’t want it to look like some kind of toy; I want it to look like a big mean machine – and my product delivers.
So before I make my final prototype, create a website, market it, etc. I want your opinions and feedback. I’m building something for us (the players) so help me make it a great player-friendly item for all of us.
As far as cost, I’m having my designs evaluated. I have a few designs that are very alike but different in terms of machining and whatnot. So if you have any ideas or suggestions or want to help on this project (web design, marketing, etc.) send an email to Envio.Industries@gmail.com (There is a possibility this will change to support@envio.com, but we will post a notification if so.)
