Hello. First time poster. I've been playing paintball for about 4 years. I started with a Talon. Everyone I play with started with a Talon and it was fun. But of course the arms war began and now we're up to a range of Tippmann's, Spyders, etc., nothing over the $300.00 range, just yet.

The reason I'm posting, I'm looking for ideas. The season's over, and I'm trying to make my marker as effective as possible for next year. I've got a Tippmann Custom '98, with a flatline barrel. Everyone I know complains about the flatline...balls don't break, can't fire as fast, stuff like that. But I LIKE mine. I have better accuracy.

I'm an old fat guy, don't run a lot and generally depend on hitting what I aim at. Do it pretty well. But the young guys are regearing again and so I've got to try to keep up. I'm adding an expansion chamber and a powered hopper to prevent having an empty chamber.

What can I generally do to add even more accuracy to the thing? Any sites out there that anyone recommends? How about the best paintballs for the '98? I'd sure appreciate suggestions.

By the way, it's a great game. (As if anyone who's played didn't know.) I used to enjoy hunting....but much prefer giving my targets a chance to fire back.

first of all, the flatline is just as accurate as anyother barrel, as long as u have the paint to barrel match, find out the bore size of the flatline, and then buy that same size bore paint, and even match will give you great accuracy, plus the distance you get from the flatline
You dropped the ball lmao

Theyre right, the bore of paint is extremly important. However, im not so sure about an expansion chamber on a 98C. I suppose it could help but the ones ive seen are a little pricy for what good they can do. One fun idea thaat i would recomend is a scope. peopple will bug u about oh, you never have a chance to use that during a game! but who cares, sometime u do and its REALLY easy to mount a scope if u got a flatline, and cheap. (i got mine at wal-mart for like 16$) I play and like woodball and speedball equally. of course theres alot more chances to use a scope in woodball. remember the exhiliration of lining up a deer in ur sights? it 10 times better when its an unuware persons head! HAAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!
